The town of Heriz (pronounced Harees) is known as one of the most significant historical places in the Azarbaijan province. Heriz rugs are handwoven by Azerbaijan Turkish inhabitants of the city. They are famous among collectors because of their soft earth-tone colors and geometric patterns. While no two Heriz carpets are identical, they generally tend to have a recognizable similarity. This rug features a red background, ivory field, blue center medallion, and borders of olive and navy blue. This rug really ties a room together.
