These swinging earrings are really fun to wear.
A round bezel set piece of roman glass leads down with a sterling silver wire to a cultured diamond shaped creamy pearl with a smokey quartz bead which strikes a great balance with the soft pastel tones in the pearl. The earwire locks in the back to make the earrings more secure.
This iridescent blue glass comes from an archaeological dig in Israel, found in the splendid ruins where ancient Roman cities once stood. The glass is crushed and mixed with a resin to give it a rough texture, then inlaid like a paste, much the same way ancient mosaics were made. The result is quite a conversation piece. Each piece includes a story card about Roman glass.
Please do not get your jewelry wet. Treat it as if it were 2,000 years old. Avoid showering or swimming with your jewelry on, and don't use hairspray near it. It's recommended that you not even touch it frequently -- oils from your hands may alter the glass color and remove its luster. Clean the silver with a cloth, but try not to rub the ancient glass.
