These handcrafted, high-quality patchwork quilts are created by a cooperative of Mayan women in the western highlands of Guatemala.
Each quilt combines a rich, deep, rust color with a variety of indigenous designs and patterns running through the various patches. The artisans who create this piece use only organic vegetable dyes to achieve the selection of deep and vibrant colors. Patchwork quilting is a traditional Mayan craft, using cotton patches to develop unique and vibrant color schemes with rich texture. Each quilt is made of patches from various regions of Guatemala, reflecting a variety of styles and colors. Corner tabs are sewn on, allowing your eye-catching creation to be hung as a tapestry. We strongly recommend that you hand wash your quilt in cold water and hang it to dry, or have it professionally dry cleaned.
