Add a touch of old world charm to your jewelry collection with this Roman Glass and white pearl bracelet.

This elegant bracelet offers the perfect pastel colorings for spring and summer. The unique rectangular beads are actually ancient Roman Glass shards which are made from the rims of bowls and plates dating back to the Roman Empire. The ancient glassblowers folded over the edges of the hot glass to finish their work, creating a skinny hollow area that is perfect for stringing.

In a workshop on a kibbutz in Israel, jewelers soak the shards in water, removing layers of sediment and patina which has built up over the centuries, restoring the glass to its original blue green color. They then cut and file the pieces and string them as beads, spacing them with sterling silver pieces. The effect is contemporary even though the glass is old. A story card comes with each piece, making these a lovely gift. The white pearls are real freshwater pearls and the silver beads, cast from seed pods found in the North of Israel, are solid sterling.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce slight variations in color, form, and sizing. All measurements are approximate.

Please do not get your jewelry wet. Treat it as if it were 2,000 years old. Avoid rubbing the glass, as oils from your hands may alter its color and remove its luster. Clean the silver with a cloth, but try not to rub the ancient glass.
