I am a biologist but now studying remote sensing technology, which is the analysis of satellite imagery. I worked and lived for several years in Costa Rica at a biological station.

Interests:
I enjoy low-budget travel to exotic lands. I always travel without a set plan and just let the spontaneity dictate my path. Most of my trips have been focused on treking through areas with traditional cultures or natural wilderness. To date I have journeyed through most countries in Central America and South America. I enjoy oil painting, traditional black and white and digital photography. My favorite subjects are remote landscapes. For this reason, Ansel Adams is my personal hero. Lately, I have grown interested in the amazing potential of digital photography for taking panoramic pictures.

Dislikes:
Mobs of tourists.

Travel Gear:
An internal frame backpack, water-proof bags, umbrella, heavy boots, an ATM card, and American dollars hidden in my shoe.

Favorite trip so far:
My favorite trip was to Peru. Peru has everything for an adventure travel--amazing ruins, an ancient enduring culture, remote regions of Amazonian rainforest, and glaciers.

Dream trip:
Taking a safari trip to Africa.

Best nightlife:
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Located on the Caribbean coast, with a rastafarian culture.

Romantic spot:
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.

Notable food:
Buenos Aires, Argentina. For a steak dinner with wine and atmosphere, you can't beat Buenos Aires.

Dangerous travel experience:
Trying to find my wife as part of a night-time rescue crew after she got lost in a Costa Rican rain forest swamp.
