Minuteman Missile National Historic Site
Interior, SD
Minuteman Missile National Historic Site is one of the nation's newest national park areas. Located on the Interstate 90 travel corridor in western South Dakota, this Cold War commemoration is not yet open to the public. Although the tangible resources protected at this site relate directly to the Minuteman Missile program, the site's story will include the larger issues of the Cold War era. The site will be administered with Badlands National Park to conserve dollars and share human resources. The exact acreage for the National Historic Site has yet to be determined. The NPS is currently involved in the planning process to determine the future of this site. Stay Tuned!
