Faro is a short train ride from Lagos in the Algarve area of Portugal along the coast.
Sintra
Sintra is a good daytrip from Lisboa. Recommend going of the beaten track and hiking up to one of the castles or the sprawling parque and Largo.
The Center of Lisbon
Lisbon has a rustic quality to it. Seafood, sailors and varied ethnicities make it seem like an old port of the 19th century. Plenty of statues and architecture of this fallen empire.
