Village Byarozauka ('byaroza' in Belarusian means 'birch tree') in Gomel area in Southern Belarus. The village is situated in Palesye region, famous for beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Palesye bogs are called 'the lungs of Europe', allegedly providing a lot of oxygen and featuring rare species of birds and animals. A large part of Belarusian Palesye is now polutted by radioactive fallout from Chernobyl, with delapidated villages but still beautifull landscapes. Nowadays Chernobyl areas have become somewhat of a tourist attraction, with 'stalkers' arranging trips to polluted areas for adventurous travellers.
