| | | | The ancient walled city of Acco, also called Acre, is rich in history. Acco is located in the northwestern part of the country, on the eastern shore of the Meditereanan Sea.
In Acre there are fingerprints of many people and religious movements: the Canaanites, the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Crusaders, the Mamelukes, the Turks and the British.
The walls of the city, its fortresses and citadels, its churches and mosques, tell the history of the many rulers who governed it and fought for it, who built the city and glorified it.
